“The Sweeny ISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) has recommended Scott & White’s Wellness and Sexual Health Curriculum to the SISD Board of Trustees to be adopted as the District’s curriculum for the human sexuality/abstinence instruction at the Sweeny High School. If adopted, it would be taught as a unit of study within the health course at the high school. Before the School Board votes on this issue, the Wellness and Sexual Health Curriculum will be available for preview by interested parents and community members until June 10. The curriculum binder is located in the Curriculum office at the SISD Administration building, 1310 N. Elm, Sweeny, and can be previewed Monday through Thursday, 8 am – 3:30 pm. Celebrating a Century of Public Education in Sweeny
Recently, Junior High students submitted original artwork to Mrs. Debra Setzer as part of an assignment in art class to commemorate and celebrate 100 years of SISD! These posters were created by Delia P. and Kasey D.
Students watch the "Birds of Prey" program before the annual Migration Celebration on 20 & 21 April at our local wildlife refuge. Special thanks to Phillips 66, Litzler Feed, and Stewarts for sponsoring this event!
