Statement of Mission
The Sweeny Independent School District, in partnership with parents and community, will provide a quality education for all students, empowering them to pursue their full intellectual, physical, and social potential and developing them to become productive citizens in an ever-changing, interdependent world.
Sweeny ISD welcomes our new Superintendent!
Dr. Tory C. Hill
Sweeny ISD Students, Staff, Parents, & Community:
I am honored to be your new Superintendent of Schools! I feel privileged to join SISD and become a part of Sweeny, A City with Pride. What I find most attractive about our community is the dedication and capacity to continuously build on the rich tradition of academic and extracurricular excellence. Our learning environments also create endless opportunities for students to learn, innovate, and maximize their individual potential.
The primary role of our district is to build the next generation of leaders by empowering Sweeny ISD students to create their future...with pride. It is also our responsibility to ensure that a robust, relevant, and responsive learning system exists to support the personalized needs of each student.
As Superintendent, I believe it is critical for us to unite as one community; ultimately creating a movement where everyone understands and takes ownership of their role in achieving the vision, mission, and goals of SISD. Collaborative decision-making amongst students, staff, parents, and community members will be critical as we embark on this journey together. I look forward to partnering with you as we unite in support of a positive culture and learning environment for our students.

Texas Education Code §39.0545, as added by House Bill 5, 83rd Texas Legislature, requires all districts to evaluate the district’s performance and the performance of each campus in community and student engagement. All school districts and charters are required to assign a performance rating of Exemplary, Recognized, Acceptable, or Unacceptable to the district and each campus. SISD values your input and would appreciate feedback through this survey.
