Sweeny ISD is proud to announce Sheila Holmes as the new Sweeny Junior High School Principal. Holmes has 20 years of educational experience as a classroom teacher, department chair and administrator.  

“I am pleased to welcome Ms. Holmes to the Sweeny ISD leadership team.  Her passion for students, leadership experiences, and instructional knowledge will be an asset to the students, teachers and staff of Sweeny Junior High.  I am most impressed by her integrity, values, and personal accountability,” said Dr. Tory C. Hill, Sweeny ISD Superintendent.  

Most recently, Ms. Holmes served as assistant principal at Clear Springs High School in Clear Creek Independent School District. During her tenure in Clear Creek ISD, Holmes served as a campus administrator on the district’s Gifted and Talented Magnet, Discipline Alternative Education Placement, and Education Village campuses.

Ms. Holmes received her Master of Science in Educational Management from University of Houston Clear Lake and her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Wiley College. Ms. Holmes has two daughters, Asia, an elementary teacher, and Amari, a junior Psychology major at Prairie View A&M University, and one son, Ashton, a middle school teacher and coach. 

“My family and I look forward to building relationships and collaborating with the Sweeny community.  I am excited and honored to be a part of the Sweeny ISD family,” stated Sheila Holmes.  

Ms. Holmes is completing multiple projects at Clear Springs High School and will start the transition to Sweeny Junior High immediately.  She will meet some of the campus staff tomorrow and will schedule transition meetings for the coming weeks.  “We look forward to welcoming Ms. Holmes to Bulldog Nation,” said Dr. Tory C. Hill.
