On February 11, 2026, Sweeny ISD Board of Trustees officially appointed Mrs. Terri Watkins as Superintendent of Schools. Mrs. Watkins has served as Interim Superintendent since May 19, 2025.

“I am honored and excited to be named the Superintendent of Sweeny ISD,” Mrs. Watkins said. “Sweeny is a special place with a rich tradition, deep community pride, and a strong commitment to excellence. I am grateful for the confidence and trust the Board of Trustees has placed in me, and I look forward to continuing to serve the students, families, and staff of Sweeny ISD.”

We are excited about the leadership, vision, and dedication Mrs. Watkins brings to our district and look forward to the positive impact she will have on our schools and community.
