Sweeny Independent School District, established in 1912, encompasses 177 square miles in Brazoria County, educates approximately 1850 students, and serves a population of 3,600. Accredited by the Texas Education Agency, the district provides high-quality and comprehensive education for pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade. Also provided are special education programs for preschool and school-age children, and a career and technology education program at the secondary level are also offered.
