Out of District Transfers

Transfers are approved for one school year only. All students must reapply each year. Transfer approval does not guarantee future approval for the next school year. To meet the needs of our current Out of District Transfer students, SISD will offer early approval for these students.

All completed 24-25 school year applications MUST be submitted online by 4 pm on June 21, 2024, for approval. Due to limited space, if you fail to complete and submit your application by 4 pm on June 21, 2024, your student may be unable to attend Sweeny ISD for the 24-25 school year.

Current Student Out of Distristrct Transfer Requests:  June 1, 2024 to June 24, 2024. 

SISD is an open-enrollment school district.  We welcome students who live outside our boundaries to take advantage of small schools and personalized learning without paying tuition.  Our Out of District Transfer program is open for enrollment based on program and space availability.  Your child must remain enrolled at their current school until you receive confirmation that the transfer is approved. If attendance, grades, discipline, and Special Program availability meet the guidelines established by Sweeny ISD, the application is forwarded to a district review panel to make the final decision. 

When completing your application, you must upload your child’s 2023-2024 school records (August 2023 – Present). Only complete applications, which include all required documents, will be processed.  Required documents include:

• Completed Transfer Application 
• Report Card/Grade Report   
• Attendance Report   
• Discipline Report—If your child has no discipline issues, please ask the school to give you a written statement on school letterhead stating this.
•  Most recent ARD document (Only applicable if the student receives Special Education/504 Services)
